Our Experience Using Worm Castings
We have been experimenting with
worm castings
this past year in our own garden and have been very impressed.Using the compost both in our raised beds and in our vegetable and flower gardens really helped our plants to thrive. The only thing I think we would have done differently is to use it as more of a top dressing on our vegetable garden rather than have the entire soil mix be compost. We also used it in our raised beds with great success. We did some square foot gardening using raised beds and it really helped keep the soil moist. Generally, that's the biggest problem with raised beds. They tend to dry out quickly. We found that by using the worm castings, we only had to water our raised beds about every third day.
