Plants For Peace

by Plant for peace
(Demotte, Indiana)

The purpose of Plants For Peace Garden Club is to plant organic gardens full of herbs and vegetables for youth, seniors and those with diabetes.

These herbs and vegetables include plants like garlic, basil, and chives. Our gardens are designed to give an alternative awareness of each vegetable and herb and its therapeutic benefits in fighting disease. We also help to bring diversity of crops and communities.

Our current project is growing shitake mushrooms on a local farm which has a quarter of an acre of land using the agroforesty system which integrates the use of trees and shrubs with livestock and/or crops.

Plants for peace is a club that meets at local coffee shops in order to exchange thoughts, ideals, successes, as well as failures with other farmers and gardeners. Come Join! It's free and fun.
