Self sufficiency - Vegetable Gardening

by Sharon
(Colorado)

Growing Vegetables

Growing Vegetables

Last year as we were harvesting our beans, my 12 yo son says to me, "Mom It feels kinda good knowing that we could grow all our own food if we had to."

I love building that self sufficient desire in my kids.

Sharon

Julia's reply: Thanks so much Sharon for your submission! I'm so glad you and your son enjoyed growing vegetables last summer. Being self-sufficient and growing your own vegetables is becoming so popular that Burpee Seeds is having a hard time keeping seeds of tomatoes, onions, and peppers in stock this spring! We will be doing more of it ourself this summer.
