Storing Tulip Bulbs

Storing tulip bulbs the correct way is important in order that your bulbs don't rot before you get around to planting them.

Once the boxes arrive, open them and remove the bags of bulbs so air can get to them. Unless you specified otherwise, your bulbs have been shipped at the right time for planting in your area, and you are urged to plant them as soon as possible.

If you can't plant them right away, store the bulbs in a dry, dark, cool place with good air circulation.

Temperatures between 50 and 60 degrees F are ideal, but your bulbs shoud be fine within a range of 35-75 degrees F.

All varieties of bulbs (except amaryllis and paperwhites) must be planted in the fall to bloom next spring.

For more information on planting, growing, and caring for your tulips check out the carousel below. Use the arrows to scroll through the books. If you see one you like, move your mouse over the book cover and you will be taken to Amazon.com
